Bare Snacks

Bare with Nature is a modular indoor footwear project designed to reconnect people with nature through sensorial experiences that evoke the feeling of walking barefoot on natural surfaces, like sand. In increasingly urban and indoor environments, this project offers a physical and emotional link to the outdoors, enhancing mindfulness while minimizing environmental impact. All components are made from natural materials such as sand, cork, and other biomaterials, and are assembled without adhesives to allow for easy disassembly, recycling, or part replacement. The shoes were produced in Pratt’s fabrication labs using advanced manufacturing techniques, including CNC knitting and CNC milling, to optimize performance and reduce waste. By blending natural materials with digital craft, Bare with Nature encourages a slower, more intentional relationship with movement, materials, and the natural world.
