Biocircuits is a sustainable alternative to conventional circuit boards, made from biochar sourced from pistachio and coconut shells combined with agar-agar. Developed through accessible, kitchen-scale chemistry, the material is biodegradable, non-toxic, and moldable into flexible forms. Traditional printed circuit boards are resource-intensive and filled with hazardous materials that contribute to growing e-waste and pollution. Biocircuits reduces this impact by replacing synthetic components with agricultural waste and offering a soil-enriching end-of-life. Its conductive properties support a range of tech functions while minimizing harm to people and the planet. The project reimagines what electronics can be when performance, sustainability, and material creativity work together.
