Eggshell Object repositions eggshell waste as a valuable raw material for food-related product design. By harnessing the latent potential of eggshells, primarily composed of calcium carbonate, the project transforms a typically discarded byproduct into a refined, purpose-driven material. The work challenges the boundary between biological waste and sustainable innovation, extending the lifecycle of this biomaterial while highlighting its environmental benefit as a natural carbon dioxide trap formed within living organisms. Through this process, Eggshell Objects proposes a new narrative for food waste, sustainability, and material agency. It explores how overlooked organic matter can be reimagined into functional forms, advancing circular design practices and encouraging a shift in how we define value in everyday materials.
