Insulative Felted Lint Textile explores the transformation of dryer lint—an overlooked domestic byproduct—into a functional, insulative textile for use in mass-produced goods. Often discarded without a second thought, lint contains a rich mix of fibers that, when reprocessed, can become a valuable material. Through felting, quilting, and encapsulation, the material gains structural strength while retaining its softness and thermal properties. The addition of ripstop fabric improves durability, weather resistance, and dust protection, expanding its potential for use in products like winter outerwear, padded accessories, and insulated containers. Positioned at the intersection of fashion, functionality, and sustainability, this work challenges the perception of waste while offering a viable alternative to synthetic fillers. It reframes a humble byproduct as a resource with both aesthetic and functional possibilities.
