LandSlide is a home-compostable slide made with sustainability and recyclability at its core. Through extensive material research and experimentation, mycelium was cultivated with hemp and sawdust into a supportive moldable surface for footwear. After substrate cultivation, the sole of the slide was hand-tooled and dehydrated. The cushioned insole was sewn out of hemp fabric and dyed with cochineal. The final product is constructed out of 5 total materials, all raw organics and domestically sourced, and with no additives or glue. Each component of the slide signals a methodical consideration for material use, and a commitment to sustainability in production.
