Scrap Coaster presents the beauty of unwanted materials that are found within the School of Design. The patterns on the coasters are given by off-cut wood pieces and failed 3-D prints. Inspired by the beautiful cross sections of stones, which are formed when different minerals clash together, I decided to experiment with a similar process to the scrap materials that I collected from the woodshop scrap bins and the graduate studios 3-D printers. They were cast in white plastic, which was found in the GiveTake.
