Sognò
A "breathing" material composite that reacts to humidity is used in the lid of the food container 'Sognò'. It was inspired by how a pine cone opens in response to humidity, the material bends due to the different expansion rates between the two composite layers, the water absorption and contraction of wood. So as the condensation rises in the container, the small "leaves" open to release the steam and they return to position as the water evaporates. I see this material as having many valuable uses for products, interiors and architecture, etc.
