Wear Plastic is a satirical activewear brand that merges humor and absurdity with the visual language of athletic apparel to question the materials worn in the pursuit of health and wellness. Inspired by research into the environmental and bodily impacts of synthetic fibers, the project examines the irony of pursuing physical health while being clothed in petroleum-derived materials.
By drawing parallels between food-related products and activewear, the project questions why the conscious consumption often applied to food rarely extends to the garments we wear. While it does not propose alternative fibers, it aims to prompt conversation and reflection about the materials we wear and their impact on our bodies.
